Hey, thanks for visiting my campaign!
My name is Tim Sartisson and my passion is handball.
I'm 23 years old and I am a Canadian citizen born in Hamburg, Germany.
I am a Canadian-German citizen and have been playing handball in Germany since the
age of 9. Currently, I live in Zurich and I am currently graduating with a bachelors degree from university in international business and I have played for 'TuS Ferndorf' in Germany's second highest division (2. Bundesliga) for three years. I am currently living in Zurich, Switzerland to play in the top league at the Grasshopper Club Zurich. I can say that my dream of becoming a professional handball player turned out pretty well.
My big goal is to play for Canada at the World Championships and the next Pan American Games in Peru in 2019.
Our next big tournament is the Pan-American Championship in Greenland in June 2018. In the beginning of April we just had the qualification tournament in Mexico City were we ended in up in 2nd place (3-W, 1-D, 1-L) and thus qualifying for Greenland. To qualify for the Wolrd's we need to end up in third place at least, but that's a long and hard way to go.
All that said, Handball receiving not a lot of fundings, especially the national team and federation (CTHF) are not receiving any fundings. Cost of camps, tournaments and flights etc. are all left to the players. On average a training camp/tournament of about 8-9 days costs roughly 2000CAN$, which includes flight, accommodation, staff, Physio etc. As you can see I launched several campaigns which include the next 4 events until Summer 2019 and add up until about 9000CAN$. To be honest, that is quite a bit of money for me as a student. That's why I am, and my participation at camps and tournaments, and the same goes for all the other Players on my Team, are depending on donations and help from third parties. That's why we appreciate any kind of help, sharing and spreading the word and links, contacts, and whatsoever!
