Haley Daniels’ story began in Calgary, Alberta as an adventurous toddler who loved to play in the out-of-doors. With paddle in hand she enjoyed many canoe trips with her family. Quickly she took to paddling and discovered the excitement of travel and the thrill of white water canoeing and kayaking. With amazement her dreams became goals and after dedicating thousands of hours to training these goals have become extraordinary achievements.
Haley has grown into a fierce competitor and is now ranked 1st in women’s white water slalom canoeing in Canada. As a devoted member of Canoe Kayak Canada’s Elite National Team she represents Canada at international competitions such as World Cups and World Championships, and the Pan Am Games.
She has qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, where women's canoe will be part of the Olympic program for the first time. Like many elite athletes, Haley has learned how to overcome adversity and achieve amazing results. Along this journey she has recovered from numerous injuries and made sacrifices in order to attain the goals she set out for herself. Her confidence, drive and leadership skills have allowed her to accomplish tremendous outcomes.
Haley will continue to seek new opportunities and overcome many new challenges along the way. Everyday Haley demonstrates how her talents and abilities as a coach, an instructor, and a motivational speaker, working hard to inspire a new generation. Currently Haley is working towards her Bachelor of Commerce at Royal Roads University, with a desire is to one day apply her marketing degree to sponsorship, corporate social responsibility, and social media.
