My name is Alanna Bray-Lougheed and I am a sprint kayaker from Oakville, Ontario. I have been passionate about this sport since I was enrolled in the recreational canoe program at the age of 10. Who knew I would still be paddling 12 years later and representing my country.
I have been competing for Burloak Canoe Club my whole career. It is the feeling of community and the joined passion for paddling that got me to where I am today in the sport. I have been on the provincial team for 6 years, and the national development team for 5 years. I have competed at Pan Am Championships and have been training hard to make the U23 (under 23) World team this year and Senior Worlds in the coming years. My ultimate goal is to qualify for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. My main goal this year is to place top 5 in the world in K4 500m at the U23 World Championships in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal.
