Hello,
My name is Raluca Ciocanel, I'm from Busteni, Romania and I was born on the 21st of april 1996. When I first went skiing with my father I was 4 years old, and from that moment I got in love with it. At the age of 7 I joined CSS Predeal ski club and since I was 12 and I got my first silver medal in the National Campionships, skiing became more than a game, it became a second life with new goals and lots of work. From that moment I'm dreaming and imagining myself racing in World Cup Circuit beside athlets like Anna Fenninger, Tina Maze, Mikaela Shiffrin, etc.
ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR:
- 2 TIMES NATIONAL CHAMPION OF ROMANIA IN GS AND SC IN 2013
- 18 TIMES NATIONAL JUNIOR CAMPION OF ROMANIA IN SL, GS AND SC
- PARTICIPATED IN FIS TRAINING CAMP IN 2012/2013
- REPRESENTED ROMANIA IN EUROPEAN YOUTH OLYMPIC FESTIVAL (EYOF)
BRASOV, ROU IN 2013
- SINCE 2013 ATHLETE OF NATIONAL TEAM OF ROMANIA
After my last season I was contacted and invited by an international team (Kronplatz
Racing Center) to join their group. Beside them I improved a lot my technique and skiing abilities. I am so excited about this forward step in my career and I'm ready to give my best.
Unfortunately three months ago I got injured. The diagnosis was fibula bone fracture. A surgery was required but the doctors are positive about my return on the track at the beginning of february.I am also very optimistic about this and I am hoping to return on the ski activity as soon as possible.

My biggest issue so far since the beginning of my carreer is the financial problem. Ability development goes very slow due to lack of adequate equipment (skis, boots, helmets, tools for preparing the skis, etc.), lack of proper training and the low number of international competitions. Kronplatz Racing center supports me with a part of the costs but i still need this amount of money for winter equipment (4 pairs of skis, 1 pair of boots, 2 helmets, and 1 pair of goggles).
