Biography
My name is Scott 'Smash' MacKenzie and I've been competing in the sport of Muay Thai since 2012. Since then I've put together an amateur record of 17 wins with 3 losses, 12 of my wins coming by way of knockout. I'm a 2 time WKA USA Nationals tournament Champion (2015, 2016), the 2015 IKF World Classic Champion, the CMTC-A Western Canadian Champion, and was a member of Team Canada 2014. I fight out of Mike Miles Muay Thai and Kickboxing Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta under legendary coach Ajarn Mike Miles. I've fought athletes from Thailand, Japan, the USA, Mexico, France, and Britain, and I'm known for my technical but aggressive fighting style.
Your support of my athletic endeavors is hugely appreciated. Muay Thai is knocking on the door of the Olympics, being officially recognized by the IOC, however Muay Thai athletes still do not receive the financial support our other athletic counterparts do from the Canadian government - all our trips abroad to compete are funded out of pocket. Traveling to compete is a requirement when you've bested the top athletes in your area, to keep progressing your fight career forward, and the associated costs are often prohibitive.
