Hi my name is Steph Mottram, I'm 26 and have recently taken the jump to move from Buckinghamshire into the hills of West Yorkshire.
I grew up as the eldest of 7children and with 5 brothers my competitive nature always shone through!
By the time I was 15 I was really I to sport and found myself training 6days a week for rowing. The hard work paid off and I was lucky enough to get to represent Great Britain winning gold medals at the Youth Olympics and the Coupe De La Jenuesse (Europeans). My time as a rower was cut short when I got injured with 2slipped discs in my back I was told I would not be able to compete in high level sport again.
This led to a total change of lifestyle, where sport disappeared for years, yet 18months a go I took part in an open water swim at the same time I saw a triathlon taking part, I knew then I wanted to give it a go!
This led to me competing in my first triathlon in April 2014, I could not believe it when I won! And my passion for the sport was born!
I then went on to train for the sport pushing myself everyday to make myself the best I possibly could .
Triathlon took over my life in such a short space of time, becoming a way of life and not just a sport. Before long it was my 5th race and I was lining up at the age group worlds in Edmonton Canada. Here I was able to finish 2nd and collected the silver medal. I've since gone on to become the British champion 2015 and am now looking to become European and world champion 2015 ...................
