Tina Mrak (born on
6.2.1988 in Koper, Slovenia, graduated on the Faculty of Sport, Ljubljana); It's been almost 20 years now since my first Optimist
miles in the home bay of Piran, Slovenia. It was love at first sight and still
lasts - only now I sail in the Olympic 470 class, together with Veronika,
making a strong and competitive team. One of the biggest successes of my sailing career is
the entry in the last London Olympic Games (470, with Teja Černe), one of the
biggest successes of our 2015 season is the European Champion 470 title. We're
training hard for the upcoming Worlds in Israel in October.
Veronika Macarol (born on 28.3.1987, Koper, Slovenia, before graduation on Faculty for Architecture, Ljubljana); I'm sailing since the age of six, started with the Optimist, switched to Europa class, joined the Slovenian women match racing team for winning the national championship and continuing with Tina on 470 (already on the 470 Youth European and World Championships 2008, 3rd place in the Europeans).
One of the biggest successes of our 2015 season is the 470 European Champion title. We're training hard for the upcoming Worlds in Israel in October.
We're both
sailing for the Pirat Sailing Club in Portorož, Slovenia, and are members of the special
sport unite of Slovenian Army.
Our coach is Tomaž Čopi, the Slovenian three time Olympic sailor in 470 class.
