Biography
My name is Eva Busuioceanu, I’m 13 years old, and I’m a national stream artistic swimmer with the GO Capital High Performance Team in Ottawa, Ontario.
I began artistic swimming when I was about 8 years old with a club in Laval. Since both of my parents serve in the military, we move frequently — which has given me the chance to swim and grow in different places. When we were posted overseas to Kyiv, Ukraine, I continued to swim recreationally with my private school. After returning to Canada, we moved to New Brunswick, where I joined the Fredericton Artistic Swimming Club and began competing more seriously.
At age 11, I entered the national stream and competed in my first Canadian Championships in Montreal. Then, shortly before moving to Ottawa, I was selected to represent Canada at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru — an incredible opportunity that changed everything for me. At just 12 years old, I won a bronze medal in my age category, and it was at that moment I knew that artistic swimming was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
After that unforgettable experience, we moved to the Ottawa region where I now train. This spring, I was selected for the Ontario Performance Team, and we trained for several weeks in Toronto before heading to the SYNC competition in Calgary. There, my team and I won gold — and that victory qualified us for the World Aquatics Youth Artistic Swimming Championships in Athens, Greece!
I couldn’t be happier or more grateful for where I am today. Artistic swimming requires constant dedication, discipline, and love for the sport — and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m incredibly thankful for the support of my family and my amazing coaches who help make my dreams come true.

Je m'appelle Eva Busuioceanu, j'ai 13 ans, et je suis une nageuse artistique de niveau national au sein de l'équipe haute performance GO Capital à Ottawa, en Ontario.
J’ai commencé la natation artistique vers l’âge de 8 ans, dans un club à Laval. Comme mes deux parents sont militaires, ma famille déménage souvent — ce qui m’a permis de nager dans plusieurs régions du monde et d’acquérir beaucoup d’expérience. Nous avons été affectés à Kyiv, en Ukraine, où j’ai continué à nager de manière récréative avec mon école privée. À notre retour au Canada, nous avons déménagé au Nouveau-Brunswick, où j’ai rejoint le club de natation artistique de Fredericton et commencé à m'entraîner plus sérieusement.
À l’âge de 11 ans, je suis entrée dans le programme national et j’ai participé à mes premiers Championnats canadiens à Montréal. Ensuite, juste avant de déménager à Ottawa, j’ai eu la chance incroyable d’être sélectionnée pour représenter le Canada aux Jeux panaméricains à Lima, au Pérou. J’avais alors seulement 12 ans, et j’ai remporté une médaille de bronze dans ma catégorie d’âge. C’est à ce moment-là que j’ai su que je voulais faire ce sport toute ma vie.
Après cette belle aventure, nous avons déménagé dans la région d’Ottawa, où je m’entraîne maintenant. Ce printemps, j’ai été sélectionnée pour faire partie de l’équipe Performance Ontario. Nous avons suivi plusieurs semaines d'entraînement à Toronto avant de participer à la compétition SYNC à Calgary, en Alberta. Mon équipe et moi avons remporté la médaille d’or, ce qui nous a permis de nous qualifier pour les Championnats du monde jeunesse de natation artistique, qui auront lieu à Athènes, en Grèce !
Aujourd’hui, je suis extrêmement heureuse et reconnaissante de mon parcours. La natation artistique demande énormément de travail, de discipline et de passion — mais je ne changerais cela pour rien au monde. Je remercie du fond du cœur ma famille pour son soutien inconditionnel et mes entraîneurs exceptionnels, qui m’aident à réaliser mes rêves.
