Biography
My name is Kaylee DeFina. I am 12 years old and the name of my dojo is Jersey Shore Judo & BJJ Academy in Toms River, NJ. I started Judo 2 years ago and I immediately fell in love with it.
As you can see, Judo is my passion, now let me tell you my dream:
I have had the opportunity to compete against some of the best athletes all over the country and while this experience was at times terrifying, it has also allowed me to gain more confidence and skills. Unfortunately, we have encountered some setbacks. My Dad had to get emergency surgery a couple of months ago and couldn't work for 2 months and my Mom only works part-time, so she can get me at the bus stop.
My parents work really hard, but do to financial obligations money is tight and they have bills to pay. I really want to compete in the US Judo Nationals this year in Florida in July and I am trying to help out by setting up a fund to assist with paying for this opportunity. They are wonderful parents and I just want to to help pay for this experience.
I do Judo 3 days a week, train really hard all to achieve my dream of competing this year in Florida.
I want to bring home a medal for my dojo and for myself, so please join my journey.
