I created this campaign because:
Hi there! My name is Kevin Anderson and I am currently a grey belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jujitsu and a Purple Belt in Traditional Jiu-Jujitsu with Therien-Gringo BJJ in Ottawa. I am also the 2014 Ontario BJJ Youth Champion in BJJ in my division!
My parents enrolled me in Traditional Jiu-Jitsu 4 years ago and I love it!!. After about a year, I was invited to the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu division at my dojo and my love for the sport increased. I have been competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for the past few years and I have learned so much. I have worked my way up from local friendship tournaments to provincial and international tournaments. On November 30th 2014 in Barrie, Ontario I won the Provincial Championship for my division. Now I have now been invited to travel to Long Beach, California to represent my team (Gringo BJJ) at the Pan Kids IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championships.
My parents and I have set up this page with the hope of being able to raise enough funds to help me get to this prestigious event in Long Beach, California on February 15th 2015.
I spend a lot of time training in Jiu-Jitsu - up to 6 days a week! I have BJJ training up to 3 times a week and Traditional Jiu-Jitsu training 4 days a week. I try to compete in tournaments across Ontario and Quebec and have done very well. My goal is to compete fairly and have fun - winning is a bonus! I can guarantee that given this opportunity I will give it my all in every fight!
