Biography
Hi! My name is Skyler Cummings and I am a member of USA Judo and train at Mayo Quanchi Judo and Wrestling in Coventry, RI.
Each day, I am constantly thinking about one thing... JUDO. I breathe, eat and sleep judo. Each morning, I get up and think about everything I have put into my sport. It's not a sacrifice though. Just because I'm not doing what every other 14 year old is doing doesn't mean it's a sacrifice. I want to do something bigger and better than everybody else. In order to do that, I have to give not 90% effort, not even 99%, but 100%. Every day, I think, "What can I do to make myself better?" "What do I have to work on to make myself different?" "What can I do to make myself better than everyone else out there?" That's all I think about. While others can be out having fun at the beach during the summer and hanging out with friends, I'm training. Recently, all of this hard work and dedication came into play. With in the last few months, I've taken 8 gold medals, a silver, and a bronze, including becoming Senior Brown Belt National Champion and taking a 5th at the U.S. Senior National Championships at only 14!
