Biographie
My name is Chris Mattock and I am a professional MMA fighter living out his dream.
I started training MMA in 2005 and bounced around gyms while going to school until 2007. I decided to make Gracie Barra Calgary my home in June of that year. Ever since then, MMA and BJJ have become my life. I train virtually everyday and have met amazing people along the way. I have gone from the tall, skinny, shy kid with long hair. To an athlete with confidence and much better hair.
In 2009, I was given the opportunity to compete in my first ever MMA bout. Despite many people not believing in me, I won in 49 seconds. I knew I could accomplish great things if I tried hard enough.
Fast forward to 2013, I was given the opportunity to fight for the King of the Cage Canadian Welterweight Title. This was incredible for me, once again, because not many people ever thought I would be able to succeed. With a lot of hard work and even more support from family, friends and team mates, I was able to win the title in the first round.
