Who am I?

I am an athlete who loves sport in all it forms, including Australian Rules Football which includes a balance of skill, strength, speed and endurance to play effectively. In my community I play "Footy" for the Burnaby Eagles, Team BC, and now Team Canada.
What am I raising money for? I am raising money to fund my participation as an athlete on behalf of Team Canada in the Australian Rules Football International Cup in 2017.
Our time in Australia will last for a total of three weeks. The first week will be dedicated to training/preparation with the rest of the Canadian team that has representatives from BC, Alberta, Ontario, and the Atlantic Region. The final two weeks are designated for the tournament itself where we will be competing against the best teams from around the world.
Australian Rules Football explained...
How will the money be used? The money I fund raise will go towards my flights, accommodation, food, and other expenses associated with the tournament itself. The total cost of my attendance to the tournament is estimated to cost $5000.
My online fundraising Goal is $2222 (because why not?) but I am hoping to raise as much money as I can to cover my expenses at the International Cup.
Why this means so much to me? Sport, in all its forms, has always been a passion of mine. It is an expression of who I am, just like how others express themselves through song and dance.
It has always been a dream of mine of mine to represent Canada on the international stage. I am very proud of our country and I have always wanted to have the chance to make our country proud of me. I have worked hard, and now I plan on working harder, now that I have the chance to make Canada proud.
Every donation that I receive makes a huge difference to me. It not only allows me to represent Canada on the international stage but gives me support to do the best that I can.
My History in Sport... Throughout high school I was constantly staying active on sports teams. I was a member of the Football Team and Cross Country Team during the Fall, a member of the Wrestling Team over the winter, and a member of the Golf Team during the spring. I always strive to do my best and have fun while doing it.
Once I started University, I was focusing primarily on school but still managed to join a community dodge-ball group once a week. Additionally, I began committing my time to becoming one of the coaches of a high school wrestling team. It has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my life to be able to share my love of sport and athleticism with the next generation of athletes. However, I wanted more...
Two years ago, a friend invited me out to join the Burnaby Eagles Australian Rules Football Team. I instantly fell in love with the sport. It has an amazing balance of speed, strength and skill required to succeed on the field. It took the best of the sports I playing in high school and combined them all into one game.
Throughout the two years that I have been a member of the Burnaby Eagles, we have been given an enormous amount of support and love from our team sponsor Corina and Mooses Down Under. The support has helped us pay for fields and equipment that we otherwise would not have had for training as well as keeping league fees down for players who cannot afford extensive fees while paying for schooling, housing, etc.
Within my first year of joining Australian Rules Football, I secured a starting position on the Burnaby Eagles through my dedication and hard work on and off the field. I was also invited to Fort Lauterdale as a member of the Canadian Development Team to play against the US Development team. Both teams battled it out and unfortunately a win wasn't in it for the Canadian team that day.
In my second year playing Australian Rules Football, I had continued success with the Burnaby Eagles finishing our regular season 7-3 and placing second in the finals. Additionally, I was invited to be a member of Team BC for the first ever Canadian Nationals hosted in Vancouver. We had great success in this two day tournament coming away as the National Champions.
I was subsequently invited to the Canadian Selection Camp in Toronto at the end of the summer. Forty-two Canadians were invited to the selection camp for a full day of skills and endurance testing followed by a full game the next day. After all the testing was completed, I was selected to be a part of the squad that would be going to Australia in 2017 to compete in the International Cup.
And now here I am asking you for your help and your support. I would like to preemptively thank you for any support that you are willing to give and let you know that I really do appreciate it.
