Biografia
I am Amanda Creek, a wildwater, slalom, and sprint kayaker. I lived in Boulder and compete in wildwater and slalom competitions in various cities across Colorado, but I am currently living in San Diego and doing sprint and ocean races. I have been competing in Kayaking since I was 12 years old. Over the past three years, I have competed in FIBArk and the FIBArk runoff in Salida, CO in both 2016 and 2017, the 2016 Lyons Outdoor Games in Lyons, CO, The 2017 Downriver Western Team Trials in Glenwood Springs, CO, the 2017 Whitewater Nationals Regatta in Penobscot, Maine, the 2017 Wildwater World Championships in Murau, Austria, and several ocean races in the San Diego area in 2017 and 2018. My main achievements have been earning second place in the slalom competition at FIBArk and qualifying to represent the United States at the 2017 Wildwater World Championships. I have also had the opportunity to represent Team Colorado Whitewater Racing at Multiple slalom competitions.
My long-term athletic dream is to improve in all three disciplines of kayaking and continue to compete, and hopefully make it to the Olympics. In the short term, however, I hope to compete at this year's youth Olympics and make it as far as I can in the tryout process.
Being a full-time high school student taking multiple honors classes, being on the school's archery team, and kayaking in three different disciplines across the country and even the world means that I'm always busy and rarely have time to relax, but competing in a sport I love is worth it! Your contribution would allow me to focus more of my time on training, allowing me to reach my athletic goals.
