Howdy! My name is Adam Williams, I have been involved in sports and Martial Arts most of my life;
I have recently competed in the Western Provincial open, Under the World Karate and Kickboxing Commission. I obtained a Silver Medal! I now have been invited to The Canadian National Championships, which gives the top four competitors a spot on Team Canada! An opportunity to fight on the national stage and the potential to push on to the World Championships representing our nation! My goal is to do just that and get onto the podium for Canada.
My journey of being a involved in Taekwondo as a child, boxing as a teenager, and Karate in my twenties has taught me how to never give up, and to ask for help or guidance when I need it. It helped me realize my dream of working in Law Enforcement, and becoming a Correctional Peace Officer, which is a job I'm proud to say I work in today. How to give back to my community, and make it a safer place; and how to push past limitations, mental or physical. I began to compete in Karate in 2011 where I was lucky to have an amazing Sensei who taught me for free since I didn't have any money! He helped me qualify for and take home the Provincial Novice Kata Gold Medal, the Kumite Gold Medal, as well as the SATO Cup Bronze Medal for Kata. It was during this time where I learned so much more about my sport. To become a world-class athlete I have to push my limits everyday and develop incredible self-discipline. I am ready to take on the next challenge in my Martial Arts Career.
To be able to reach these goals, and become a true Canadian National champion, at the largest Martial Arts Event in Canada I need to raise 2500$. This is why I need your support. All donations will directly help me fund my fees, flights, accommodation, and coaching staff. By contributing you will help me reach my goals but you will also take part in our journey of becoming a Team Canada member, and helping the sport of Karate grow before it's 2020 Olympic debut!
