Be part of my journey to the USA/Worlds Track and Field championships & 2028 Olympics

My name is Charles Brown III, but most people know me by my nickname Buzzy and I currently live in the Milwaukee area. I am truly passionate about Track And Field and my goal is to compete at the World and Olympic Championships for Track and Field. I am asking for your help in order to achieve my dream.
I started out my track and field career as strictly a high jumper because I did not want to run, but little did I know how far running would take me in my life. It was not until the end of my junior year of high school (Neuqua Valley located in Naperville, IL) that my coach suggested I try long jump due to the fact he knew how fast I was; that is when I found my true calling in T&F. I first had my dreams of competing at the professional level, even the Olympics in college when I realized my potential and dedication to this sport. I have been putting in the work day in and day out to turn my dreams into reality.
After four short years at Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), I had become a 6x NCAA Championship qualifier, 3x NCAA All American, and a 6x CCIW conference champion in what is considered one of the most competitive D3 conferences. I realized throughout my college career that as much as it is about chasing your dreams, it also is about inspiring the next generation. That is one of the reasons I decided to become a physical education teacher. I teach K-8 students in the inner city of Milwaukee at a bilingual school. Being a kindergarten through 8th grade teacher has taught me the patience and mindfulness that is needed to be a successful athlete. I am also a hip-hop dance instructor and a track and field/sports performance coach. Seeing and helping the younger generation become more confident in themselves and their skills helps keep me motivated and driven to become an Olympic athlete. Besides marking a jump I know I am capable of, my outcome is to show my students that with a plan and persistence, you can create your own success from your passion and dreams. I want to be a light to my students, showing them that the world is much bigger than just the city of Milwaukee.
Post-college has led me to my personal best indoor mark of 7.57m (24’ 10”) and outdoor mark of 7.75m (25’ 5”). I have qualified for 5 Toyota USATF indoor championships (2014, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2022) and been a 2x 6th place finalist. Over the past few years I have been working hard to make sure that I have the correct form and technique because such small details can make a big difference in long jump. Members of my current training team are my brother Cale Brown (currently the T&F Assistant Coach at Carthage College) as my long jump/run coach and Shannon Fitzhugh (Founder of G3 Powerhouse) as my weight trainer and speed specialist. Now that I have improved my run/jump form, I am faster than I ever have been and I feel I am at my ultimate best. I have been so close for a long time to marking an Olympic standard jump and it is time for me to punch my ticket.
In order to compete at my best, I have to constantly push my limits and stay mentally tough. I have been working hard for the last 12 years and been paving my own way to my dreams. I am now asking for the support from others in order to give myself the very best chance of achievement. The next Olympics are 2024 and I plan to see this through to the end and more. Anything given will be used for the cost of travel and board, meet entry costs, and training costs such as equipment and therapy. By supporting me today, you are investing into something bigger than just a fundraiser. You're changing not just my life but the lives of my students and anyone that hears my story. Thank you for your support.
