Biografia
My name is Erica Celine. I started Karate when I was 16 years old only as a hobby but discovering the martial art little by little - the meticulousness of the art, its practicality in self defense and the values it instills in its practitioners - has made me love it.
Those who know me well will agree that Karate is one of my greatest passions. I have been practicing karate for the last 10 years and participating in Karate competitions in and outside of the country since I was a yellow belt.
Back in 2011, as a member of the Philippine National Team, I was able to add 2 bronze medals to the country's medal tally. However, certain circumstances led me to focus on my professional career and leave the National team. Now I am returning to the mat with a podium finish at the 37th ISKF US Nationals and International Goodwill Tournament as my main goal.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS:
INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS
- Double Bronze medalist in the 2011 Southeast Asian Games (SEAG): Women's -50kg Kumite and Women's Team Kumite.
- Represented the Philippines and won bronze in Women's -50 kg kumite event in the 3rd Kobe-Osaka International Karate Championships 2008.
LOCAL/NATIONAL LEVEL:
- Gold Medalist in the 2015 2nd Women's Martial Arts Festival: Women's -55kg Kumite
- Gold Medalist in the 2013 PKF (Karate) National Championships: Women's Individual Kata.
- Silver Medalist in the 2013 PKF (Karate) National Championships: Women's -60kg Kumite
- Gold Medalist in the 2011 PKF (Karate) National Championships/PNG: Women's -55kg Kumite
- Triple Gold Medalist in the 2010 PKF (Karate) National Championships: Women's -50kg kumite, Women's Open Kumite and Women's Individual Kata.
