Aberdonian currently in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Although we’re currently under lockdown here, I’m keeping up my daily training in preparation for getting straight back to fighting as soon as the gyms and stadiums reopen. The governments current projections suggest this will be around the 15 June here in Chiang Mai.
I discovered Muay Thai in 2017. Since booking my first fight that same year, I've known my goal would be to move to Thailand to train and fight full time.
In March 2018 I suffered a skull fracture and brain injury whilst playing football which put a big question mark on whether I would ever fight again - let alone make the move to Thailand.
My time out confirmed how much I love Muay Thai, training and fighting. It motivated me to work hard towards a fast and full recovery and gave me even more determination to take it to the next level in Thailand.
In April 2019, just over one year on from the injury, I returned to the ring, winning by third round stoppage.
In the following year I experienced what seems to be far too common when fighting in the UK, a year full of pull outs left me with little progress in fight experience despite training intensively throughout.
This led me to believe the best possible way to develop and improve as a fighter and gain experience would be to make the move to Thailand to where it’s possible to fight much more often.
On the 29 February this year I fought in a British title contender fight in Leicester. Winning has given me the opportunity to fight for the elite promotions title towards the end of the year. I’m aiming to gain as much experience here in Thailand as possible ahead of returning to the UK for the show, providing it goes ahead at the planned date (dependent on the virus and lockdown situation).
If you’d like to support me you can do so through this page. While the pandemic is ongoing, I will be donating 20% of anything I receive to the NHS.
Forever grateful for all of your support, stay safe!
